I have been a driving instructor for some seven years now having for many years (until redundancy) been a Director at Wiltshire College.
After moving to Cornwall, I trained to be a Driving Instructor and for about 5 years gained experience working for a local driving school on a part-time basis. I established Drive Time School of Motoring in May 2008 and it has since gone from strength to strength.
I am a fully qualified, experienced Driving Instructor.
I have passed the Diploma in Driving Instruction.
I have passed the DSA Fleet diploma.
I have passed the Diamond Advanced Special Driving Test.
I am a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
I teach on the National Driver Improvement/Driver Alertness Courses.
I have undertaken an Instructor Training Course with one of the most respected driving trainers in the country.
I am a member of the Driving Instructor’s Association (DIA)
I am a member of the Cornwall Association of Approved Driving Instructors (CAADI).
I regularly contribute to various Driving Instructor/Training Forums.
I am committed to the concept of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
I am in my mid 50s and live near to Redruth in Cornwall with my lovely partner Lorraine. My interests are many and varied but include : most sports (especially football), driving our VW Camper Van, gardening (we have two allotments), reading, crosswords, holidays, music (I have a wide musical taste) and railways.
Having established Drive Time as a very successful school, I would now like to expand to include additional instructors within Cornwall and to possibly establish Drive Time in other areas. Ideally I would like to train my own instructors but will consider working with existing instructors if they wish to join Drive Time.
