Having completed your training you will be faced with the big question of what to do next.
There are various options open to you.
Join A National Driving School
They will provide you with a car and help with recruiting pupils. In return, they will charge a large weekly or monthly franchise fee.
Join A Local Driving School
Some local schools will be keen to take on additional instructors on a part or full time basis. Some will provide you with a car whilst others will expect you to provide your own vehicle. Weekly/Monthly charges will vary enormously. There are no guarantees that the school will be able to provide sufficient pupils for your needs.
Set Up Your Own Driving School
You will, of course, have to source a car and there will be additional and not inconsiderable costs around advertising, stationery, fuel and maintenance etc. You will also face the problem of being an unknown entity in your area and may initially encounter difficulty in attracting pupils.
Join DriveTime Driving School
This will depend on the area in which you intend to teach as we do not want to provide too many instructors in the same area. We would expect you to source your own car but we can offer advice on buying/renting/leasing etc. We would also expect you to keep your car fully maintained and, of course, you will need to pay for fuel, insurance, road tax etc.
We provide the following :
